On the Brink

There is the flow that precedes us. The one most people talk about. The way life flows unimpeded and whether we’re working on a complex problem, designing something, fixing something or simply moving through our day like we’re floating, life arrives for us.

The right parking place, the refund, the solution to an invention, the missing piece to fixing something, the words for your lover, the idea for a party, a new client, the phone call or text…It’s playful.

And, there is another flow. The one that hasn’t existed before. That can’t be spiritually bypassed as if it was all meant to be, and could only emerge through your courageous engagement. That is more like a reward for living present, intentionally shifting and expanding, through everything.

You pause to refresh yourself at its shore of unfamiliarity and, seeing yourself in the reflection of the waters, you realize who you are now has completely reorganized what comes next.

On the brink of THAT flow, what will you choose?

Happy Independence Day for those of you in the U.S.

“Business” takes us through many doors. This photo is of a former client who came to me for challenges in her work as a nurse practitioner and manager of a clinic. Through that door we walked into her deepest longing. Love. Children. She had given up on meeting her true love and had been unable to get pregnant in previous relationships. Being almost forty, she decided to have a child through artificial insemination that she would raise on her own. But after many thousands of dollars was unsuccessful.

She was told she didn’t have long and her eggs were very diminished, as they do as we grow older. “It only takes one,” I said. As she freed from what was energetically/emotionally blocking her from pregnancy, the flow opened. She met the love of her life on a blind date. Told him in no uncertain terms her intent to have children. He was with her. Soon she was pregnant with their first daughter and later the second. Her children got to meet their grandparents before they passed, another of her longings. And yes, her work life changed and expanded as well.

You never know where your business, or any door you choose to start with, will take you and how it supports, and orders, the expansion of the rest of your life and dreams. ❤️
